Japan Airlines will procure more than 10 billion yen by selling its aircraft hangars in Narita, Haneda and other major Japanese airports by the end of September, JAL officials said Wednesday. The storage facilities will be leased back and the struggling airlines will continue to use them. JAL plans to spend the procured funds to repay interest-bearing debts and improve its financial health. JAL sold its head office building with a similar lease-back contract in 2004. It also sold affiliated hotels while maintaining their operations.
